Thousands of worshippers take part in service at St. Ann’s Convent

On August 14, 2026, the Feast of the Procession of the Precious Wood of the Life-Giving Cross of the Lord and the commemoration of the Holy Martyrs the Maccabees, Metropolitan Serhiy of Ternopil and Kremenets celebrated the Divine Liturgy at St. Ann’s Convent in the town of Vashkivtsi, Chernivtsi region, reports a UOJ correspondent.
His Grace was concelebrated by Metropolitan Meletiy of Chernivtsi and Bukovyna, Metropolitan Clement of Nizhyn and Pryluky, Metropolitan Volodymyr of Pochaiv, Archbishop Veniamin of Khotyn, Bishop Cleopa of Novoselytsia, Bishop Nikita of Ivano-Frankivsk and Kolomyia, as well as clergy from various eparchies.
During the service, prayers were offered by the convent’s abbess, Mother Augusta (Vereshko), together with the sisters of the monastery, as well as abbesses and nuns from women’s monasteries of the Chernivtsi-Bukovyna Eparchy and numerous pilgrims. The bishops and clergy prayed for peace in Ukraine, deliverance from the enemy, protection for people who have lost their homes, and help for those in need.
At the conclusion of the Liturgy, Metropolitan Serhiy performed the blessing of honey and herbs. The hierarchs then sprinkled with holy water the numerous faithful who had come to the monastery for the patronal feast.
As the UOJ reported, from early morning the faithful began ascending the Anna Hill to the convent, with hundreds of pilgrims making the ascent on their knees.
