ROCOR Primate greets His Beatitude Onuphry on his enthronement anniversary

On August 17, 2026, the First Hierarch of the ROCOR, Metropolitan Nicholas of Eastern America and New York. congratulated His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry on the 12th anniversary of his enthronement, reports the  UOC Information and Educational Department.

His Grace Nicholas sent his congratulations on behalf of the Bishops' Synod, the clergy, monastics, and all the faithful of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia. In his message, he noted the primatial feat of His Beatitude Onuphrius, his courageous stand for the purity of Orthodoxy, and his unwavering faithfulness to the Truth of Christ, which, in the words of the hierarch, serve as a lofty example for the entire Orthodox world. Metropolitan Nicholas emphasized that the Primate of the UOC was called to his ministry during a difficult period in the history of the Church and has become for his flock a true good shepherd.

In his congratulatory message, the First Hierarch of ROCOR also expressed confidence that the patience, confession of faith, and faithfulness to Christ of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church will serve as an important example for strengthening future generations of Orthodox believers. His Grace Nicholas wished His Beatitude Onuphrius good health, grace-filled spiritual vigor, and the all-powerful help of God in bearing the Primatial cross, and also prayerfully invoked upon him the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos and the intercession of the Venerable Fathers of the Kyiv Caves.

As the UOJ reported, the UOC marks the 12th anniversary of Metropolitan Onuphry's enthronement.
