On August 15, 2026, in Kyiv, staff members of the UOC Synodal Department for Social and Humanitarian Affairs delivered humanitarian aid to 100 families of internally displaced persons, reports the UOC Social Department.
During the latest charitable event, humanitarian packages were distributed to those in need. The Church noted that since the beginning of 2026, thousands of families who have found themselves in difficult life circumstances have already received assistance.
In total, since the beginning of the year, the UOC Social Department has delivered 2,600 humanitarian packages. Among the recipients are people who were forced to leave their homes due to hostilities.
Among those who received aid was Valentyna from Mariupol, who will turn 80 in September. The woman shared that she had left her hometown under heavy shelling. "I used to work as a nurse and had seen a great deal. But what I witnessed back then struck me deeply," she recalled.
Valentyna thanked the benefactors for their support and noted that, despite the hardships she had endured, she tries to keep living and to preserve her strength.
Previously, the UOJ reported that humanitarian aid from the Chernivtsi Eparchy was delivered to the Sviatohirsk Lavra.
