On August 19, 2026, the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, Bishop Mark of Rakhiv, vicar of the Khust Eparchy of the UOC, celebrated the rite of consecration of the altar at the Transfiguration Church in the village of Zalom, Zakarpattia, reports the eparchy's press service.
Following the rite of consecration of the altar, a festive Divine Liturgy was celebrated. At its conclusion, Bishop Mark blessed the fruits of the new harvest.
Addressing the faithful, the bishop explained the spiritual significance of the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord and emphasized the need for every Christian to undergo spiritual transformation.
As the UOJ reported, thousands of faithful in Khust took part in a religious procession with Martyr Gabriel's relics.
