On August 19, 2026, the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, Metropolitan Volodymyr of Kamianske and Tsarychanka blessed a dome and cross for the UOC Church of St. Agapitus of the Kyiv Caves, which is being built in the city of Kamianske, Dnipropetrovsk region. This was reported by the press service of the Kamianske Eparchy.
After the blessing, the hierarch noted that placing a cross atop a church carries special significance: it visibly bears witness that the sacred building is dedicated to Christ, while the church itself becomes a spiritual landmark for people. Metropolitan Volodymyr called the appearance of a new cross above the city a joyful and blessed event, as it reminds everyone of God, faith, and hope.
Metropolitan Volodymyr expressed the hope that construction of the church would continue successfully and that it would soon become a place of prayer and spiritual support for the residents of Kamianske.
As the UOJ reported, the altar of the UOC Transfiguration Church was consecrated in the village of Zalom in Zakarpattia.
