Archbishop Iona (Cherepanov), spiritual father and builder of the women's monastery in honor of the icon of the Mother of God "Consolation and Comfort," performed three monastic tonsures on the feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord. This was reported by the monastery's website.

Sister Ilaria (Lozovska) became a mantled nun: according to the Olshansky tradition, at the tonsure to the mantia the bishop places upon the tonsured the klobuk of Venerable Philotheos (Zervakos), which is kept at the monastery, and the name is not changed. Novice Daria Lyaskovets became nun Eusebeia in honor of Venerable Eusebeia (Xenia) of Rome, and novice Natalia Nazimova became nun Paissia in honor of Venerable Paisios the Athonite.

The monastery emphasized the spiritual significance of the event. "We thank the Lord for this joy! We ask for holy prayers for the newly tonsured sisters," the statement reads.

The monastery is known as the place where the venerated icon of the Mother of God "Consolation and Comfort" is kept, as well as relics associated with the name of Elder Philotheos (Zervakos).

As the UOJ reported, a house church in honor of the Apostle John the Theologian was consecrated in Mala Olshanka.
