On August 28, on the feast of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos, Serbian Patriarch Porfirije led the Divine Liturgy at the Rakovica Monastery and addressed the faithful with a sermon on trust in God. This was reported by the official website of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

The Primate of the Serbian Church noted that the Mother of God showed an example of perfect faith when She received the words of God addressed to Her and responded: «Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word». According to the Patriarch, it is precisely this readiness to fully accept the will of God that should serve as a guide for every Christian.

Patriarch Porfirije emphasized that the words «Thy will be done» express the essence of man's relationship with God. «The whole mystery lies in this: whether we will hear the word of God <…> and say once and for all: “Thy will be done”», – he said.

The Primate also reminded the faithful that Christians may turn to the Most Holy Theotokos in prayer and trust. According to him, She hears the faithful, abides with them, and intercedes for them before Her Son and God.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that the Serbian Patriarch refuted rumors about the creation of an eparchy in Montenegro.
