His Beatitude spoke about the newly glorified nun of the Florivsky Monastery

On August 31, 2026, His Beatitude Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Ukraine Onufriy spoke to the faithful about the feat of the newly glorified blessed nun Olga, who labored at the Kyiv-Florivsky women's monastery. The recording of the sermon was published on the YouTube channel of the UOC.

On that day, the rite of glorification of the blessed nun Olga was performed at the monastery. "Today, the sacred rite of glorification of the newly revealed handmaid of God, the holy blessed nun Olga, who labored for many years in this monastery and adorned herself with every virtue and holiness, was performed in the monastery," said the Primate.

His Beatitude Onufriy noted that nun Olga carried a special feat of service to God — foolishness for Christ's sake. "This is the feat of foolishness for Christ's sake, by which Christians of a high degree of spiritual perfection exposed the pride of this world and called people to humility and eternal salvation," he emphasized.

Speaking about the spiritual meaning of the Christian feat, the Primate reminded that the earthly life of a person consists of trials. "Through these trials, sorrows, and illnesses, the Lord gives us the opportunity to grow spiritually and to bear witness to our faith and love for God," said His Beatitude.

At the conclusion of the sermon, he called on the faithful to turn in prayer to the blessed nun Olga and the martyrs Florus and Laurus. "So that they, standing before the Throne of God, may remember us sinners, who are in this earthly vale and each passing through our own trial," said the Primate.

Earlier, the SPJ reported that His Beatitude explained why the death of the Mother of God is called the Dormition.
