Chief Rabbi: Jews feel better in Ukraine than even in the US
The Chief Rabbi of Ukraine Moshe Reuven Asman stated a lower level of antisemitism in the country compared to European states and the US. This is reported by RBC-Ukraine.
The spiritual leader noted the safety of Jewish residents in Ukrainian cities. According to him, in the West Jews hide their origins and religious views. In Ukraine, members of the community freely walk the streets in traditional clothing and face no threats to their safety.
Moshe Asman drew these conclusions after his most recent trip to North America. "I arrived from the US and Canada a week ago, where many propagandistic narratives are at work," said Moshe Asman. "During meetings I told Americans: the level of antisemitism in Ukraine is much lower than in Europe or in American universities."
According to the Chief Rabbi, European Jewish organizations recommend that believers not display their identity on the streets due to high risks. In Ukraine, Jews have full freedom of religion and receive state support for their volunteer activities.
As the Union of Orthodox Journalists reported, the Chief Rabbi thanked Zelensky for the law against antisemitism.
