Former Ukrainian minister’s publishing house releases anti-Christian book

Ukrainian publishing house Arc.ua, founded by former Health Minister Ulana Suprun, has released and is actively promoting American author Sam Harris’s The End of Faith, which contains sharp criticism of Christianity and other religions.

According to the publisher’s description, Harris portrays religion as a force that has historically shaped human thought and challenges the taboo surrounding critical scrutiny of religious doctrines. He calls for rejecting “supernatural authorities” in matters of morality and adopting a secular humanist approach based on neuroscience and philosophy.

Even Right Sector, which previously supported Suprun, expressed outrage over the publication. On its Facebook page, the group noted that Suprun grew up in a Christian family and worked at the Ukrainian Catholic University, yet the publishing house she heads is promoting a book with anti-Christian content.

Suprun had previously drawn criticism after discussing the situation of LGBT people in U.S. churches and calling on Ukrainians to support that agenda.

As the UOJ reported, officials outlined their vision for the Lavra in 2051, describing it as a “center of political thought.”
