About a thousand believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church walked in a religious procession to the St. John the Theologian Monastery of the village of Seltso, reports the Mukachevo Eparchy.

The UOC hierarch called the religious procession to the Pochaiv Lavra a six-day public supplication for peace and the strengthening of Christ's Church.

The traditional prayer procession, held with the blessing of Metropolitan Theodor of Mukachevo and Uzhhorod, is dedicated to the day of veneration of the wonderworking icon of the Mother of God "Look Upon My Humility." The annual religious procession took place on the eve of the celebration in honor of the wonderworking icon of the Most Holy Theotokos.

With prayer and spiritual joy, the pilgrims completed the appointed journey, glorifying the Most Holy Theotokos and turning to the Heavenly Intercessor with petitions for Her maternal protection and prayerful intercession before the Lord. During the procession, the faithful offered special prayers for the granting of peace to the Ukrainian land and its defenders.

Near the monastery, the participants of the religious procession were met by the monastic brotherhood led by the abbot Archimandrite Luke (Tomishynets).

Earlier, the UOJ reported that a religious procession took place to the Boyany Monastery in Bukovyna.
