UOC believers celebrate 200th anniversary of Holy Cross Church in Rakhiv

On the day of the great feast of the Exaltation of the Honorable and Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, celebrations were held in the city of Rakhiv on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, reports the Khust Eparchy.

The festive divine service on the jubilee day was led by Metropolitan Mark of Khust and Vynohradiv. His Eminence was co-served by the vicar of the Khust Eparchy, Archbishop Simeon of Uholka, as well as the clergy of the church and the eparchy.

Before the beginning of the festive Divine Liturgy, the ruling bishop of the Khust Eparchy performed the rite of consecration of the renovated frescoes of the church.

During the service, special prayers were offered for the granting of peace in Ukraine, for the soldiers, for the well-being of all Orthodox Christians, and for all who labor and pray in this holy place.

For two centuries, the Exaltation of the Holy Cross Church has remained a place of constant prayer and a spiritual center for many generations of Orthodox residents of Rakhiv.

Previously, the UOJ reported that a UOC hierarch led the patronal feast at a 170-year-old church in Sarniv.
