OCU “hierarch” Oleksandr Drabinko visited the Volyn Theological Academy and donated a collection of books to the institution, including the 17-volume Complete Works and Letters of Nikolai Gogol, published by the Moscow Patriarchate's publishing house with a foreword by Patriarch Kirill.
In his foreword, the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church notes that Gogol's literary legacy belongs to both the Russian and Ukrainian peoples, bringing them together and serving as a foundation for their spiritual and cultural unity.
Drabinko also recalled that he had previously donated a facsimile edition of the Peresopnytsia Gospel to the same academy. The facsimile copies were published by the UOC in 2011 with the blessing of Metropolitan Volodymyr (Sabodan) of Kyiv and All Ukraine. According to the UOJ, Drabinko appropriated copies belonging to the UOC and, in 2022, presented one of the manuscripts stolen from the Church as a personal gift.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that Drabinko had handed over relics of St. Andrew the First-Called and Prince Volodymyr to the “entire UGCC.”
