On October 17, 2026, OCU representatives Oleksandr Drabinko and Mykhailo Zinkevych arrived on Mount Athos, according to the official Facebook page of the OCU's Pereyaslav "Eparchy."
On October 16, the OCU delegation met with Archimandrite Alexios, abbot of Xenophontos Monastery.
On October 17, Drabinko and Zinkevych celebrated a "liturgy" at Pantokrator Monastery and met with its abbot, Archimandrite Gabriel. The delegation also visited Iviron and Vatopedi monasteries, although no meetings with representatives of either monastery were reported.
Recall that following one of Zinkevych's previous visits to Mount Athos, the Holy Community (the Holy Mountain's highest governing body) lodged a complaint with the Greek foreign minister over the provocative actions of the OCU "metropolitan."
The letter stated that the delegation led by Zinkevych had arrived on Mount Athos carrying Ukrainian national flags and chanting the Ukrainian national anthem. According to the Holy Community, such actions violate the Charter of Mount Athos because they constitute nationalist propaganda.
As the UOJ previously reported, the Holy Community expressed outrage over the actions of OCU "clergy" on Mount Athos.
