On this topic Priest reminds why believers come to prayer standing near Kyiv Lavra
Near the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, Orthodox Christians have been gathering for prayer almost every day for more than two years.

The priest addressed those gathered and asked what their sorrows mean compared with what had just been read during the prayer. He was referring to Great Martyr George the Victorious.

"We stand here freezing, while George the Victorious spent three days in quicklime," he noted.

At the same time, as Father Heorhiy said, the saint raised his hands and thanked God for everything he had endured.

He called on believers to accept hardships just as the great martyr did.

As thee UOJ reported, the UOC faithful have held prayer vigil outside the Lavra for more than 1,000 days.
