The lawyer of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Archpriest Nikita Chekman, called on believers to support the Church's legal team with their prayers ahead of the upcoming court hearing in the Upper Lavra case.
The hearing is scheduled for October 20, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at the Northern Commercial Court of Appeal in Kyiv. The attorney asked his brothers and sisters in Christ for their prayers and support ahead of the next stage of the legal proceedings.
On October 15, during the previous hearing, UOC lawyers were attacked. Radical activist Davyd Pshenichnyi shoved a lawyer representing the monastery inside the courthouse and threatened him with violence, prompting the attorney to call an ambulance.
As the UOJ previously reported, the Lavra's lawyer provided details of the attack against him in the courtroom.
