On the feast day of the “She Who Is Quick to Hear” Icon of the Mother of God, the UOC Primate consecrated a Kyiv church dedicated to the Holy Unmercenaries Cosmas and Damian.

The parishioners prepared the premises themselves. Despite the difficulties they have faced, the community continues its church life and gathers for communal prayer.

During his visit, the Metropolitan discussed the parish’s needs and arrangements for holding services with the faithful. He was accompanied by the parish rector, Fr. Ioann Vilkhovetskyi.

The Intercession Church in Dankivtsi was reportedly seized on July 23, 2024. Following the seizure, parishioners who remained faithful to the UOC converted a house into a place of worship.

The newly consecrated house will be used for regular services by the Intercession parish.

As the UOJ previously reported, the Primate of the UOC had consecrated the Transfiguration Cathedral at the Pochaiv Lavra.
