Metropolitan Pimen of Rivne and Ostroh celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos in the village of Bilashiv, Zdolbuniv district, to mark the church's 290th anniversary, the Rivne Eparchy reports.
During the service, clergy and parishioners offered special prayers for peace in Ukraine, the country's defenders, and all those affected by the war.
The celebration also coincided with the commemoration of the Fathers of the Seventh Ecumenical Council, who upheld the Orthodox veneration of icons and faithfulness to the Holy Church. The eparchy wished the clergy and parishioners of the historic church God's help, peace, and spiritual blessings.
For nearly three centuries, the church in Bilashiv has been the heart of the village's spiritual life, where generations of Orthodox Christians have gathered to pray to God and the Most Holy Theotokos.
As previously reported by the UOJ, the UOC's Intercession Monastery in Kharkiv recently celebrated its 300th anniversary.
