OCU activist admits breaking into UOC church in Sloviansk
Oleksandr Onyshchenko said that the OCU held its first "service" at the Seraphim Church, which had previously been broken into by forcing the locks and doors.
OCU activist and initiator of the transfer of UOC communities in Sloviansk Oleksandr Onyshchenko said in a video that the first "service" had been held at the UOC’s Seraphim Church in Cherezkivka, reports the Dozor Telegram channel.
In the video, filmed from the church bell tower, Onyshchenko calls the church “recently liberated from the Muscovites” and says that it now belongs to the OCU.
Onyshchenko claims that weapons were allegedly once stored in the church basement and that “Moscow terrorists” went there for confession and Communion. He provides no evidence for these claims in the video.
Dozor noted that with these remarks, the activist effectively took responsibility for the break-in at the church the previous day.
As the UOJ reported, unknown persons broke down the doors in two UOC churches in Sloviansk. Law enforcement opened a case on unlawful entry.
