The U.S. president commented on student protests in France, blaming the unrest on uncontrolled immigration.

U.S. President Donald Trump commented on widespread protests by high school students in France, blaming immigrants for the unrest. His remarks were published on a Telegram channel bearing his name.

“What’s happening in France is nothing less than out of control mass migration. This isn’t about schools, this is about Islam wanting to take over a once great Country!” the U.S. president wrote.

The protests in France began with demonstrations by high school students over teacher shortages, deteriorating school buildings, and cuts to education funding. The demonstrations then rapidly escalated into widespread unrest as radical youth groups joined the student protests.
