UOC Social Department provides aid to displaced families in Kyiv
The UOC Synodal Department distributed food packages to 100 displaced families at Holy Ascension Church in Kyiv’s Demiivka neighborhood.
In Kyiv, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church’s Synodal Department for Social and Humanitarian Affairs held another charity event, distributing food packages to 100 internally displaced families, the UOC Social Department reports.
The humanitarian aid distribution took place at Holy Ascension Church in the Demiivka neighborhood, providing support to families in need. Since the beginning of the year, the UOC Social Department has distributed food assistance to 3,600 displaced families.
“For our family, this food package was more than just much-needed assistance – it was a reminder that we have not been forgotten and that people care about us. Being forced to leave our home has brought many challenges, which makes this kind of support especially meaningful. We are deeply grateful to everyone who refuses to turn a blind eye to the suffering of others and reaches out to those facing difficult circumstances,” said Maryna, a displaced resident of Kharkiv region.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that UOC clergy and volunteers in Poltava had delivered aid to children’s hospitals.
