Radicals plan another provocation at Upper Lavra court hearing
Radical activists have called on supporters to gather outside a Kyiv courthouse ahead of the Upper Lavra hearing, accusing the UOC of “bribing judges.”
Radical activists in Kyiv are preparing another protest involving provocations ahead of a court hearing concerning the Upper Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, urging supporters to gather outside the Northern Commercial Court of Appeal on November 3, 2026.
Dmytro Korchynskyi called on his supporters to come to the courthouse on Sholudenko Street to pressure judges, UOC believers, and lawyers representing the monastery. In his post, Korchynskyi called the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra an “FSB cell” and accused UOC clergy and lawyers, without providing evidence, of “bribing judges” and “busing in crowds of supporters.”
Radical activists have repeatedly staged provocations outside the courthouse and even assaulted lawyers. In one incident, activist David Pshenychnyi attacked Valerii Kushnir, a lawyer representing the monastery, leaving him in need of emergency medical assistance.
Activists have also brought jars containing mock severed heads of UOC hierarchs, Russian passports, banknotes, and flags to the courthouse.
OCU-affiliated journalist Tetiana Derkach criticized the activists' stunts, calling the protests a “circus” and remarking that such behavior could only win approval from people who were not mentally sound.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that activists who had received awards from the OCU were involved in staging provocations outside courthouses during UOC-related hearings.
