Korchinsky Wants to Dismantle the Iconostasis of St. Sophia’s Cathedral
The former head of the UNA-UNSO Dmitry Korchinsky initiates the demolition of the 18th century iconostasis of St. Sophia’s Cathedral. He wrote about this on his page on Facebook.
According to him, the iconostasis is "ugly and prevents from seeing the apse", "The remains of the ugly iconostasis bother a lot. Kiev cultural public should request the management of the museum to move the iconostasis to other premises, where it will touch, but not annoy, and open access to the apse. I'll do that, but you will support".
It should be reminded that Dmitry Korchinsky, who organized the seizure of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra in 1992, has recently said that the transition of the UOC under the jurisdiction of the Kyiv Patriarchate or the UGCC torture to the head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church His Beatitude Onufry should be applied: "We only need an iron, the Holy Spirit and a soldering iron.
