The Romanian Orthodox Church Supports the UOC and Condemn the Actions of Schismatics
Participants of the rally "Zaporozhye-Aphos", headed by the Archbishop of Zaporozhye and Melitopol Luka, visited the Secretary of the Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church at the Antim Monastery of All Saints in Bucharest. It is reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Zaporozhye Diocese.
Bishop Barlaam stressed that the Romanian Orthodox Church is closely following the developments in Ukraine and recognizes the Ukrainian Orthodox Church as the only canonical Orthodox Church led by its Primate Metropolitan Onufriy.
"The Romanian Orthodox Church constantly prays to God for peace in Ukraine, on whose body like a bleeding wound gapes the ongoing armed conflict, worsened by unlawful and contrary to the Gospel and canons actions of the schismatics, which cannot contribute to peace in the Ukrainian land," noted the Secretary of the Synod of the Romanian Orthodox Church.
Pilgrimage rally from Zaporozhye to Mount Athos, with a visit to Romania, Greece, Bulgaria and Moldova, was held on 21-30 March and dedicated to the 1000th anniversary of the presence of Russian monasticism on the Holy Mountain.
