American OSCE officer adopts Orthodoxy in Severodonetsk

On May 17, US citizen Jarol Brown, 36, adopted Orthodoxy at the Nativity Cathedral of Severodonetsk, Lugansk region, reports the press service of the UOC Diocese of Severodonetsk.

Cleric of the cathedral Archpriest Daniel Pertsev carried out the sacrament of baptism. "Remember those white clothes, symbolizing for you the beginning of a new, clean life with Christ, and try to keep this great gift of the grace of God in purity. Let the All-Merciful Lord strengthen you in life and give eternal life", he said.

In Baptism Jarol took the Orthodox name of Michael. In memory of this significant event, Archpriest Daniel Pertsev gave the newly baptized an icon of the Savior and wished always remember this day.

Brown is a staff member of the OSCE mission that works in the ATO zone.
