Believers of Ivano-Frankovsk UOC diocese will join Cross Procession-2016
On 26-28 July Ivano-Frankovsk diocese of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church will organize a pilgrimage to Kiev city. It is reported by the diocesan site.
Orthodox pilgrims will take part in celebration of Kiev Rus Christening and All-Ukrainian Cross procession of peace, love, and prayer for Ukraine to be held in the capital of Ukraine. The departure is scheduled for 26 July at 9 a.m. form the Nativity Cathedral in Ivano-Frankovsk city.
On 27 July from the Transfiguration church in Ivano-Frankovsk there will begin a Cross Procession of “love, peace, and prayer” destined for the Holy Dormition Kiev-Pechersk Lavra.
On 27 July a Divine Liturgy will start at 7 a.m., while at 9 a.m. pilgrims will head in a Cross Procession for the Lavra, accompanied by buses.
It will be reminded on the 3rd of July began All-Ukrainian Cross Procession which will cover dioceses of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church with prayer for Ukraine. The Procession starts from two points – from the East (the Holy Dormition Svyatogorsk Lavra) and the West (the Holy Dormition Pochaev Lavra) on July 9. Two streams of our faithful will move towards each other to meet in Kiev on Vladimir Hill on the feast day of St. Prince Vladimir, Equal-to-the-Apostles, and Christening of Rus and then to make for the Holy Dormition Kiev-Pechersk Lavra .
