Ten camouflage men were involved in another provocation of the “Right Sector” against the UOC

On 21 August in Ternopol city representatives of the “Right Sector” undertook another provocation, aimed at stirring up hatred towards the clergy and faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. It is reported by the Information and Education Department of the UOC.

Like it was several weeks earlier, members of this nationalist organization disseminated false information about the Church through leaflets with traditional accusations towards the faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. At the same time, “calling Ukrainians to pray for the creation of One Ukrainian Local Church”, the agitators carried out their provocative action during the Divine Liturgy near the city’s cathedral.

On the following day the “Right Sector” site placed the information that allegedly “the absolute majority of Ternopol citizens welcomed our action.” Reportedly, the leaflet distribution action lasted in fact for three hours, and despite the preliminary advertising campaign, managed to gather as many as ten men in camouflage. According to eye-witnesses’ accounts, the action did not arouse a particular interest with passers-by. 

As a reminder, a provocative activity on hatred escalation in the Ukrainian society is carried out, as the radicals admit themselves, “across Ukraine in various forms.”
