Kyiv diocese and Orthodox Italian families organized recreation for children of military men and internally displaced persons
Orthodox Italians have taken to their families children of wounded soldiers and internally displaced persons from the eastern regions of Ukraine, reports the Information and Education Department of the UOC.
At the conference, "You're a blessing for me" in Rimini (Italy), the press-secretary of the Makarov Vicariate of the Kyiv diocese Archimandrite Filaret (Egorov) met with children from Ukraine, who are on a rehabilitation holiday in Italy.
A recreation holiday for the 46 children was organized by the clergy of the Makarov Vicariate together with the parish of St. Ambrose of Milan in Milan, a volunteer group "Kyiv-Milan" and the Fund "Children of hope and love."
Concerned Orthodox Italian families covered travel and accommodation expenses of Ukrainian children in Italy. As part of recreation, young Ukrainians received medical procedures and got to know the Orthodox shrines of Italy. Among them were children from families of wounded Ukrainian soldiers and displaced persons from Eastern Ukraine.
During the welcome meeting children, families, where they are currently staying, and the organizers received memorable gifts and goodies from Ukraine.
