US State Department officer becomes a priest of Kiev Patriarchate

In Rovno, a financial analyst of NATO and the US State Department Elijah Morgan became a priest of the Kyiv Patriarchate, reports the RTB television channel.

Recently he has been ordained by UOC-KP Archbishop Hilarion of Rovno and Ostroh as a deacon, and later, at the Holy Protection Cathedral, as a priest.

The priest is planning “to minister” in Switzerland first, until he forms his parish. He says that he studies theology and has already learned a few words in Ukrainian. The minister considers Ukrainian youth as his potential flock and feels sorry that "only elderly people go to church."

Elijah Morgan is 65 years old, he was born in South Africa and is a Swiss citizen. He made a career as a Doctor of Economic Sciences, a financial analyst with NATO and the US State Department.

Earlier, the head of the presidential administration of the United States said that from now on the problems of the Orthodox will be under control.
