Hryshchuk: If UOC hands over its church itself, angle grinders aren't needed
An OCU chaplain called on UOC believers to accept the loss of the shrine for the sake of their own "enlightenment".
Church seizures can proceed without the use of construction tools if canonical Church communities do not offer resistance, writes OCU chaplain Roman Hryshchuk on his Facebook page. According to him, the "peaceful transfer" of the Dormition of the Mother of God Church in the village of Komariv, Dnistrovsky district, allegedly proved that "it's possible without angle grinders too."
The representative of Dumenko's structure mocked UOC parishioners, noting that violence is not required in cases when "the minority respects the law" and "does not take the temple hostage." Hryshchuk advised believers who still listen to "priests of the Moscow Patriarchate" to take the results of such meetings as "God's will" and "obey it." The author of the post claimed that UOC supporters allegedly easily accept "God's will" during occupation, but begin to "scream about seizures when the community leaves the MP."
It should be recalled that on January 25 in Komariv, a meeting was held to change canonical subordination, where 164 people voted for the transition to the OCU. However, only 206 people participated in the voting, while 42 participants openly opposed it. Hryshchuk himself directly linked this decision to the death of serviceman Vitaliy Melnyk, stating that the deceased "managed to help the residents of his village even after death."
It is noteworthy that it was Roman Hryshchuk who provoked the conflict during Melnyk's funeral service on January 14.
