20th Cross Procession to Pochaev Lavra starts (VIDEO)

On July 27, 2017, the 20th jubilee Cross Procession of "Peace, Love and Prayer for Ukraine" starts from Ivano-Frankivsk to the Holy Dormition Pochaev Lavra, reports the site of the Ivano-Frankivsk diocese of the UOC.

In the morning, the Divine Liturgy and a prayer for pilgrims were performed at the Holy Transfiguration Cathedral of Ivano-Frankivsk. Divine services were led by His Grace Tikhon, Bishop of Ivano-Frankivsk and Kolomyia, and concelebrated by the clergy of the diocese.

About 250 believers from the Pre-Carpathian region, as well as from different parts of Ukraine, gathered to take part in the walking pilgrimage. Traditionally, all the way more and more pilgrims join the Cross procession.

At the end of the service, Vladyka Tikhon addressed the pilgrims with words of spiritual instruction, wished spiritual and physical strength in carrying out the feat of the religious procession and sprinkled the holy water on the participants. After this, pilgrims with spiritual songs, led by the clergy of the diocese, set out along the streets of the city.

The current Cross Procession of "Peace, Love and Prayer for Ukraine" Ivano-Frankivsk - Pochaev is anniversary, it went off from the Ivano-Frankivsk diocese for the 20th time. Pilgrims will overcome more than two hundred kilometers and on August 1 reach a great shrine – the Holy Dormition Pochaev Lavra, on the eve of the feast of the Pochaev Icon of the Mother of God.
