Today’s Church of Tithes is a historical truth, – Nun of the UOC

This is lawlessness – to hamper the faithful to have their divine worship on the place where there used to be Church of Tithes – the first stone-made temple of the Kievan Rus. This is told by architect and nun of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church Elena Krugliak in her interview to the UOJ correspondent.

"The church here was, is and should be. This is a historical truth," said nun Elena. “And if to interfere here to perform worship, then this is a violation of the law, which is qualified like that in Ukraine, Europe and the whole world. Millions of people came to the foundation of the former Tithes Church and prayed when there was no present chapel. And how many miracles of healing have already been recorded in this chapel! And there is a miraculous icon there."

Nun Elena reminded what terrible events the destruction of churches in the early twentieth century led the country to.

On February 1, the inter-factional association "For Kiev" together with the VR committee on anti-corruption issues held a meeting on the topic: "Illegal construction on the territory of the National Museum of Ukraine". At the meeting, a representative of the Kiev City State Administration reported that illegal buildings near the ruins of the Church of Tithes would be removed in the near future and there are relevant documents for this. As for the Church of the UOC, there are no documents that the church can be demolished.”

On January 25, the radicals undertook publicly the assault of Desyatinny Monastery, and at night tried to commit arson. Radicals threatening the monastery's brethren shouted, "I'll burn you, slut! You're a KGB officer. I'll kick you now with my leg, okay? You are a slut that has no place here – I tell you that in Russian. To you, clowns in skirts, there is no respect."
