In Banja Luka city experts point to the danger posed to Orthodox identity in modern Europe

This is stated in the resolution of the international conference “Contemporary Challenges of Orthodox Identity” which took place on February 27, 2017 in the capital of the Republic of Serbia Banja Luka.

According to the conference participants, political and religious experts, modern Ukraine is a vivid example of the loss of national, moral and spiritual attitudes, as well as the politicization of religious life. Information was voiced that as of 2018 the Kyiv Patriarchate had illegally seized about 60 churches of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

The experts noted the attempts of the schismatic groups with the support of Ukrainian authorities to create a “single local church”, putting pressure on the Constantinople Church and Patriarch Bartholomew. The authors of the resolution called upon all the Local Orthodox Churches to condemn this project as "an attempt to sow discord and strengthen the schism in the Orthodox world.

In addition, experts discussed the challenges faced by Christianity in Western Europe. Participants of the conference are convinced that to date the EU is implementing a discriminatory policy towards Christianity.

The concept of "human rights", they believe, has become an instrument for the destruction of traditional values and institutions, such as family, motherhood, childhood, healthy orientation in the relationship of the genders, etc.

The international conference "Contemporary Challenges of Orthodox Identity" was organized by the non-governmental organization Serbian People's Movement – Our Choice.
