UOC comments on information about "investigation" of SBU
Archpriest Clement of Nezhin and Priluki
No official statements about the investigation of the activities of the UOC have ever sounded, and the head of the SBU Vasily Gritsak has repeatedly said that his organization has no claims to the UOC. Archbishop Clement of Nezhin and Priluki said about this in an interview with "Vesti".
"Those statements that are now circulating in the press in this regard were sounded by some people who identified themselves as members of the Security Service, but who they really are, I personally have no idea, like most of our citizens," said Vladyka.
He also said that one should also turn to them for explanations about what the SBU officers call "prayers of pro-Russian content": "As a rule, those who declare that in our Church they pray for Putin's victory or sound other nonsense, have never been at a service and have a vague idea what the Orthodox worship is."
The hierarch said that the Security Service has repeatedly declared that it has no claims to the UOC and, moreover, cooperates with the UOC on issues of humanitarian support for Ukrainian prisoners of war. "All other statements of people who want to PR on the topic of religion are not worthy of attention," the bishop said.
Earlier, the media disseminated information that representatives of the Security Service are conducting an investigation into the activities of the UOC in the Donbass.
