The clergy of Donbass declared loyalty of the UOC

On February 17, 2019, meetings of the clergy of the Donetsk and Gorlovka eparchies took place. Those present unanimously confirmed their desire to remain in the bosom of the canonical Church, reports the Information and Education Department of the UOC.

During the meeting of the clergy of the Donetsk eparchy, which was held at the Holy Assumption Nikolo-Vasilyevsky Monastery in the village of Nikolskoye, chaired by Metropolitan Hilarion of Donetsk and Mariupol, issues of loyalty and devotion of the Orthodox communities and their superiors to His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry, as well as administrative issues of church life, were discussed. The participants expressed their fidelity to the UOC, headed by its Primate.

The Gorlovka eparchy also declared its loyalty to Christ in the Orthodox Church and to Metropolitan Onufry at a meeting of clergy and parish council representatives, held under the chairmanship of Metropolitan Mitrofan of Gorlovka and Slavyansk on the territory of the Monastery of St. Sergius of Radonezh in vlg. Sergeyevka of the Slavyansk district.

“The participants unanimously expressed their support for the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kiev and All Ukraine. According to the results of meetings held in the parishes, the clergy and parishioners confirmed their desire to be in the bosom of the canonical Orthodox Church,” the eparchy’s message reads.

We recall that the same support for the canonical Church and Met. Onufry has also been expressed by the eparchies of Volyn, Dzhankoi, Mogilev-Podolsky, Uman, Ovruch, Berdiansk, Nikolaev, Nezhin, Novaya Kakhovka, Izium, Crimea, Chernigov and Novgorod-Seversky, Kirovograd, Zhitomir, Lugansk, Mukachevo, Alexandria, Sumy, Romny, Konotop-Glukhov, Zaporozhye, Kharkov, Voznesensk, Tulchin, Rovno, Kherson, Severodonetsk, Odessa, Dnipropetrovsk, Krivoy Rog, Kamenka, Poltava, Vinnitsa, and Khust, and the clergy of the Brovary Region outside Kiev and of the Tatarbunary Region in Odessa.
