On the night of June 3, 2019, the unknown persons robbed a temple in honor of the holy apostles Peter and Paul in Kolchino town, Transcarpathian region, reported on the page of the robbed temple on Facebook.
The thieves smashed a window in the altar of the church with a stone and stole an altar cross and parishioners-donated funds from the gift box.
After the alarm went off, members of the security company Zodiac arrived at the crime scene. However, the robbers had managed to leave the crime scene by that time.
The law enforcement agencies drew up a report on the fact of theft and left the temple.
After that, at 4 am, the temple’s alarm system went off again and the police arrived again to record an illegal entry of the vandals into the temple.
Recall, April 15, 2019 from the Introduction of the Most Holy Theotokos temple in Sumy, the attackers stole donations for children with cancer. These funds had been collected by the parishioners of the church within the framework of the charity event “Bright Deeds for the Bright Day”.
It should be noted that such crimes do not go unpunished. For example, on May 8, 2019, the thief was found in Pervomaisk – a 20-year-old local resident – who had stolen old church books from the UOC temple.
