The “archimandrite” from the so-called Montenegrin Church Bojan Bojović took part in the “worship” of the OCU, which took place on May 26, 2019 in St. Michael’s Golden-domed Cathedral in honor of the 19th anniversary of its restoration. The UOJ was supplied with the information by the Montenegrin-Littoral Metropolis of the Serbian Orthodox Church, in which Bojović was identified by the photo, published on the OCU website.

At the same time, the official report on the “liturgy”, in which the head of OCU, Epiphany Dumenko, was concelebrated with the representatives of Phanar, does not mention the Montenegrin dissenter.

Until the formation of the OCU, representatives of the splinter church of Montenegro had repeated contacts with the UOC KP and, apparently, the relationship of non-canonical structures is still ongoing.

Recall the so-called Montenegrin Orthodox Church was formed in 1993 and still does not have its status recognized.

As the UOJ reported, recently the President of Montenegro, Milo Đukanović, stated that he “will work diligently” to obtain autocephaly for the unrecognized Montenegrin Church according to the Ukrainian scenario.
