The ruling bishop of the Vinnitsa Eparchy of the UOC, Metropolitan Varsonofy (Stoliar) of Vinnitsa and Bar visited the village of Makhnovka in the Vinnitsa region and told on Facebook about the state of the earlier seized temple belonging to the canonical Church.

“I visited the temple in honor of St. George the Victorious in Makhnovka, which had been closed for six months. Unfortunately, the temple, which is an architectural monument, is being destroyed. They’ve made a warehouse for construction materials from it,” said Metropolitan Varsonofy. “The area around the temple is neglected and overgrown with weeds, the road to the well is no longer noticeable. Despite the fact that the members of the OCU do not use the shrine as intended, they do not allow our community of the UOC to perform services in it.”

Recall, on April 10, 2019, in Makhnovka, the “cleric” of the OCU attacked Vladyka Varsonofy. The parishioners of the UOC were able to defend their hierarch.

Archpriest Viktor Bodnar, who later attacked Metropolitan Varsonofy in Makhnovka, died after a protracted illness.
