UOC bishops and ROCOR priests pray in Kiev for peace in Ukraine

On December 8, 2019, the vicar of the Kiev Metropolis, Archbishop Theodosius of Boyarka, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Cross Exaltation Church in Kiev, reports vicariate.church.ua.

His Eminence was accompanied by the clergy of the Cathedral of the Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary of the City of Chicago, Fr. Leonty Naydzenz, Protodeacon Alexander Kichakov of the Chicago and Mid-American Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, and the clergy of the Holy Cross Exaltation Church.

During the Liturgy, special prayers were offered for the successful implementation of the peace process and the onset of peace in eastern Ukraine.

After a verse about Sacraments, the text of the statement of the Holy Synod of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of December 6, 2019, was read.

At the end of the service, Archbishop Theodosius addressed the parishioners with a sermon.

As reported by the UOJ, earlier Metropolitan Augustine of Belaya Tserkov and Boguslav led the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Cross Exaltation Cathedral of the ROCOR in Geneva.
