On March 6, 2020, the State Council of Greece [Supreme Administrative Court – Ed.] will consider the complaint of the Pan-Greek Orthodox Union regarding the recognition of the autocephaly of a schismatic OCU by the Hellenic Orthodox Church, reports the newspaper of the Union Ορθόδοξος Τύπος.
The Greek public organization believes that the Bishops' Council of the HOC of October 12, 2019, made a decision, violating the required procedures: the Greek hierarchs did not vote for the recognition of the OCU and, accordingly, did not support the decision by a majority vote.
As members of the Union note, the upcoming event is not covered by the Greek media, deliberately hiding the problem of division in Greek Orthodox society.
As reported earlier, the Greek bishop, Metropolitan Seraphim of Kythira, spoke about a serious canonical violation in the recognition of Ukrainian schismatics. He emphasized that the supporters of Constantinople’s decision ignored the Primate of the canonical Church His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine with a host of hierarchs and millions of Ukrainian believers.
