On March 3, 2020, in Myshev village, Ivanichi District, Volyn Region, a meeting of representatives of the UOC community and the OCU activists was to be held, at which it was proposed to discuss how two parishes could divide two church facilities – one community would have the church, while the other – the belfry. However, the UOC believers were told before the meeting by telephone that their opponents would not appear for negotiations. This is reported by the UOJ.
As specified by the UOC community, the temple, which was sealed in the autumn of 2019, was opened and finally taken over by the hardcore of the OCU. This happened at the end of January, when the raiders removed the seals and took over the building. The police did not prevent this, since the small but already registered community of the OCU had documents in their hands.
Starting from this day, the UOC believers have been gathering in a private empty house, which was temporarily allocated to them by one of the families in Myshev.
During the conflict over the church, the community voiced the idea of using the church belfry, which is not smaller than the church. However, as it became known, the OCU raiders simply procrastinate with this issue in order to finalize the documentation for this building too: workers from the Technical Inventory Bureau have already come to Myshev for this end.
The new church structure in the village does not have the majority; there is about one fifth of the OCU members. At the last gahering, according to the UOC community, only a couple of dozen people came from the OCU against 150 parishioners of the canonical Church.
Nevertheless, we will recall that officials told the UOC community that their parish would be re-registered in favor of the OCU "even with three signatures".
