On November 25, 2022, during a meeting with the mothers of servicemen, Russian President Vladimir Putin suggested that they think about why the members of the SMO sacrifice their lives, tass.ru reports.

Nina Pshenichkina turned to the President of the Russian Federation, whose son served in the “LPR” since 2014 and died in 2019 in a battle near Pervomaisk. Putin called the incident "a huge tragedy", acknowledging that nothing can fill this void for a mother and suggested that she think about why her son gave his life.

“We are all under the Lord, under Allah, under Christ – everyone who believes in higher powers, no matter what religion he adheres to. The important thing is that we are all mortal, we are all under the Lord, and someday we will all leave this world. It's unavoidable. The question is how we lived,” Vladimir Putin said.

“Some people live or don’t live – it’s not clear, and how they leave this world – because of alcohol addiction or from something else – it’s not clear. Did they actually live or not? And life slipped through imperceptibly somehow... But your son lived. His goal has been achieved… In this sense, of course, his life turned out to be significant, with a result. And with the one he aspired to,” the Russian president added.

As the UOJ reported earlier, Kadyrov said that the soldiers who died in the SMO are real martyrs.
