Members of the community of the Cathedral of the UOC of the Nativity of Christ that “transferred” to the OCU turn out to be figureheads. One of the “parishioners” of the UOC cathedral, who allegedly wanted to join the OCU, was identified as Oleksandra Hrushetska, a woman from the entourage of the mayor Martsynkiv, who is also a member of the leadership of the UGCC community of the Holy Trinity of the BAM microdistrict.
The UOJ was told about this by real parishioners of the cathedral, who identified Hrushetska at one of the events in the city.
In the spring of 2022, Ruslan Martsynkiv announced that the cathedral community allegedly expressed a desire to join the OCU, and even called the townspeople to the first service. The community, which several times had expressed its desire to remain in the UOC, was forced to turn to the SBU, the police, and even Volodymyr Zelensky with a request for protection from arbitrariness.
Nevertheless, in July 2022, a group of people began to gather near the cathedral, calling themselves “the transferred community of the UOC” and demanding that they be allowed into the temple of the UOC to “pray”. Among them was Oleksandra Hrushetska.
At the same time, Hrushetska is one of the leaders of the Trinity community of the UGCC, and also regularly takes part in events organized by Martsynkiv and MP Oksana Savchuk, the author of the bill to ban the UOC.
Recall that the Ivano-Frankivsk diocese refuted Martsynkiv’s words about the transition of the priests of the Nativity of Christ community to the OCU.
