In the papal yearbook “Annuario Pontificio” for 2020 year, the title of Pope Francis “Vicar of Christ” is taken out in a separate column and named historical, reports the Shepherd & Flock telegram-channel.
In 2019, as in all the previous ones, Pope Francis was titled in the same yearbook as “Vicar of Jesus Christ, successor to the Prince of the Apostles, High Priest of the Ecumenical Church, Great Pontiff, Primate of Italy, Archbishop and Metropolitan of the Roman province, sovereign of the Vatican city state, servant of the servants of God."
In the new version of the 2020 yearbook, under the name of the Head of the RCC, Jorge Maria Bergoglio, his biography is posted, while all the papal titles listed above are placed in a separate column and entitled “Titoli storici” (“historical titles” – Ed.).
Annuario Pontificio is an annual publication published by the Vatican State Secretariat that contains information and full addresses of the Holy See, all Apostolic Thrones and Catholic institutions in the world.
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that Pope Francis called on his flock to "go beyond the interests of Catholics".
