From April 4, 2020, until the official end of the national quarantine, service at the Holy Dormition Kyiv Pechersk Lavra will be held in closed session – with online broadcasting and the Communion of the Holy Mysteries of Christ on the territory near the temple, reports the press service of the monastery.
"All parishioners of the Lavra and all Orthodox Christians are kindly requested to take this restrictive measure with understanding,” the message says. “As before, during the quarantine period, all statutory divine services are performed and video broadcasts of services of the great feasts, Saturdays and Sundays, the Holy Week are held.”
The press service emphasized that the monastery brethren continue to offer special prayers in the monastery’s temples “during a devastating pestilence” and daily pray for patients with coronavirus infection and for doctors who are fighting for their lives.
Believers who wish to submit memorial notes or donate can do so on the monastery’s official website.
"May the Lord, through the prayers of the Most Holy Theotokos, the intercession of the host of the Kyiv-Caves saints and all the saints, strengthen us all, give us strength and patience to survive these trials, and send His Blessing to us all!” says the message of Kyiv Pechersk Lavra.
As reported earlier, as part of the fight against coronavirus, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine decided to ban all mass events, including religious ones, on the territory of the state until April 24, 2020. Earlier the Ukrainian authorities announced the "Easter at Home" project.
