The head of the OCU said on the air of the All-Ukrainian Telethon that at the upcoming meeting of the OCU "Synod", parishes that wish to do so will be allowed to fully switch to the New Julian calendar.

"We have embarked on a reform of the church calendar. Last year I said that it takes time, it takes several years. But because of the war, we see that this process is very fast and dynamic. Therefore, we are responding to the request of our faithful," Epifaniy said.

Dumenko claims that, according to polls, the number of those wishing to switch to the new calendar exceeds the number of opponents of the idea.

In 2022, the OCU "Synod" allowed priests to choose their own dates for Christmas celebrations. As a result, some OCU "hierarchs" said that the Nativity of Christ could be celebrated twice a year.
