On April 22, 2020, the mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, reported during an online press conference that the Holy Protection Goloseevsky Monastery was closed for quarantine, as cases of coronavirus were found in the monastery, reports the website of the Kyiv City State Administration.
“Among those who have proved positive for coronavirus over the past day, there is one monk of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra and 12 monks of the Holy Protection Goloseevsky Monastery. In this monastery, all rooms are being disinfected at the moment. And we’ll place it on lockdown,” said Vitali Klitschko.
As reported earlier, the Donetsk region was previously closed after the celebration of Easter in Sviatogorsk Lavra.
