During the month of the charity project, which takes place with the blessing of Metropolitan Agafangel of Odessa and Izmail, the Humanitarian Centre of the Odessa Eparchy of the UOC, together with patrons and restaurateurs Andrei and Inara Zarichanskys, delivered around 17 thousand lunch boxes to city doctors and needy Odessa residents for a total of more than 1 million hryvnias, reports "Orthodox Odessa".
“Dozens of workers of the “Fish” restaurant, which is located at station 14 of the Fontanskaya Road, are working day and night to prepare and pack their products in lunch boxes,” the eparchy’s press service said in a statement. “Every day, a huge number of auto-volunteers of the Odessa diocese deliver hot delicious dinners, including the first and second courses, dessert and compote, to about half a thousand Odessa residents, most of whom are either “on active duty" to preserve our health, or they’re just unable to get basic food.”
The eparchy hopes that other indifferent people will join the charity campaign so that the initiative of the Odessa Eparchy can continue.
“Together we will do much more! We are waiting for everyone who can and wants to make this world kinder!!! Our contacts in Viber, WhatsApp, Telegram +380730171000. Write us your ideas and suggestions!” calls the Odessa Eparchy of the UOC.
As reported earlier, during the coronavirus quarantine, the Odessa Eparchy organized hot meals for the city ambulance crews, employees of the Unified Operational Dispatch Service of the Odessa Regional Emergency Medical Centre, as well as personnel of the Odessa City Children's Hospital and large families.
