Archpriest Dimitry Sydor, rector of the Exaltation of the Cross Cathedral in Uzhhorod, said that the war against the UOC would end in defeat for those who started it. He said this during a sermon, the video of which was posted on YouTube by the press service of the cathedral.

According to him, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church has already done a lot to “cut off the bony hands of atheists and Satanists” from church affairs: “Our UOC has declared independence, indicated the center of administration in Kyiv. But it turned out that a lot of people continue to beat the Orthodox,” says the priest. “Why so? Because Satan does not tolerate the canonical Church. Satan does not tolerate the humility that the persecutors saw in the face of the UOC.”

The archpriest noted that in Soviet times the state would also fight against the Church, but the prayers and patience of the Orthodox destroyed that system.

“Abroad, he (Metropolitan Filaret of Kyiv and Galicia – Ed.) said that there was no persecution of Christians in the USSR. However, the prisons were full of priests, monks. Today we also hear many of our officials abroad say, ‘There is no persecution in Ukraine.’ What should we do then?” he said.

As the UOJ reported, ex-adviser to the Office of the President Oleksiy Arestovych said that the persecution of the Church ends badly for the persecutors.
