On May 29, 2020, at the request of employees of the Rivne Regional Blood Service Center, clerics and laymen of the Rivne Eparchy donated blood, said a UOJ correspondent who visited the site.
Metropolitan Bartholomew (Vashchuk) of Rivne and Ostroh blessed this noble cause.
"We have long-established close cooperation with the Blood Service Center, so we receive calls if necessary. Because of the quarantine, there was a situation when there is not enough vital fluid, we responded," the head of the Social Department at the Rivne Eparchy of the UOC Archpriest Vasily Nachev told the UOJ correspondent.
As explained in the Blood Center, due to a long quarantine in all districts of the Rivne region, blood collection was stopped.
Only the regional center is active, and donors are invited to the center to replenish the blood supply.
The eparchy is planning to continue donating blood, there will only be a few stages of blood collection so as not to create problems for the workers of the center.
The next donation is scheduled for June 2.
Earlier, the UOJ reported on the first donation campaign and called on all concerned to join it.
